Z Wave Controller for RGB Lights

Solid Apollo LED  just introduced 2 new LED controllers based on Z-Wave technology to control Color Changing LED’s (RGB) and also a new controller for single color LED’s.

Solid Apollo’s LED Z-Wave RGB Controller will enable you to control Color Changing Lights like RGB LED Strips which can be used in your home cinema, man-cave or anywhere in your home. You can control the colors and brightness levels.

We also offer a Z-Wave LED Dimmer  for low voltage LED lights like LED strips, landscaping lights, LED Light Bars, LED Puck lights and much more!

Z-Wave is a new home automation technology which enables users to easily integrate and automate their homes by using compatible Z-Wave devices.

The great thing about Z-Wave is that it is universally compatible with many devices from different manufacturers.

Until now most home automation companies like Lutron, Crestron  and  Control4 and many others had their own systems. It was very hard to integrate devices from other manufacturers as they had their proprietary systems that are closed systems therefore making it very difficult for the normal user to integrate more things into the system. Not only that, you had to have a masters degree in programing and configuring the installation. Z-Wave eliminates all that.

Z-Wave technology was developed in order to eliminate this caveat as it works similarly to Bluetooth technology, which means that as long as manufacturers respect the communications protocol set by the Z-Wave alliance every system will be fully compatible.

Another advantage of Z-Wave technology is that each system or “Thing” as Z-Wave standards call them works as a receiver and repeater. This is very interesting as each device on the network can talk to each other and pass the signal to each other extending the range of control extensively.

Also Z-Wave-enabled devices create a mesh network between them, and it gets stronger and better the more devices you add.

What kinds of things can you do with Z Wave technology?
1. You can integrate thermostats to control Heating and cooling in your home.
2. You can control your garage doors
3. You can have humidity sensors to detect water leaks
4. You can Turn ON/OFF lights in your home and dim them
5. You can control irrigation systems to water your plants
6. You can automate everything to turn on/off based on schedules
7. You can detect when doors open or close and run a program when that happens.
8. You can control electrical outlets

So What will you need to create your very own home automation using Z Wave?:

Initially you will need a HUB. A hub is what will make everything work seamlessly. We have used in our company the Samsung SmartThings with great success. This  HUB connect to your router at home and once you do that you just download the SmartThings app.

Once that is done you can start to add devices intermediately and easily.

Blue LED Strip Lights

North Seattle LED lighting manufacturer and distributor SolidApollo.com just introduced to the market superior LED Lighting Strips, LED Strip Controls, Solderless LED Strip Accessories and LED Dimmers, which will enable users to create faster installations and enjoy better lighting performance.

There are several factors that distinguish SolidApollo’s LED Strips from other retailers. Their Led Lighting Strips offer high quality controls and the best value in the market thanks to several technological factors:

First of all, Solid Apollo’s LED Light Strips run at 24V DC instead of the typical 12V DC. This makes their product more stable and efficient in comparison to conventional 12V led strips. Lower current is needed to operate them, which increases life span as well as lowering the heat emission, a key factor when it comes to eroding and degrading the phosphor in the LEDs. It is demonstrated that a lower current decreases substantially light degradation and LED strips suffer when exposed to constant heat and high currents to operate them.

Another competitive advantage that makes unique SolidApollo’s, LED lighting strips, is the use of a white flexible Printed Circuit Board (PCB); a very important factor to consider when undertaking installations in the business/architectural arena. The standard PCB available in the market is brown color, making it very visible when not in use. According to Solid Apollo.com, the white PCB is more appealing to customers, as it makes the strip almost invisible when installed behind light boxes, milky Plexiglas etc.

Additional advantage on this product line is its “Easy connect System” which makes this product work, right out of the box, without having to know how to solder or connect cables. Each of Solid Apollo´s LED light Strips, come with a fused Barrel connector that is already integrated in the LED strip- very important factor for users who don’t have the skills to peel and solder cables. The product works with any of Solid Apollo’s UL approved Power Supplies.

Sold Apollo also manufactures their LED strips, with a very stable production of SMD LEDs and only uses LEDs which have the same production Bin number. Therefore regardless of the size of an installation, having the same Bin number assures you that throughout the installation the light will be homogenous, with no color differentiation. Customers that need to install large runs of LED strips therefore require to have very stable color emission, find this quality to be very crucial.

According to Manuel Barquin, CEO of SolidApollo.com “We are able to deliver a superior product in the market, as we control production from start to finish and we don’t rely on overseas or Asian integrators to do the job. That is why we are capable to support customers with a 2 year warranty in all our LED Strip products. On that same line customer satisfaction is very important for us and for that we believe in offering an ongoing solid 30 day money back warranty, giving our customers the peace of mind that our products will always performs as advertised.”

Further added value solution to SolidApollo’s LED lighting Strips, is their wide range of LED lighting controllers and Accessories. SolidApollo just launched the iChroma line of LED Controllers which come in different models, to accommodate all uses, including a Remote Control version. According to Manuel Barquin, CEO of SolidApollo, “Because we strive to always offer complete solutions – and not just make a quick buck in the market – we have developed the iChroma Wireless RGB Controllers. We also offer the market a wide range of interfaces from simple RGB Solutions to complex DMX solutions that take the technology one step ahead – offering infinite possibilities from standalone options to replay pre-programmed lighting events to very spectacular and sophisticated light displays. We offer a new meaning and use of the LED technology.”

SolidApollo also offers Waterproof LED Strip that is coated with Ultraviolet Ray protection chemicals. This is an important advantage, as normal waterproof strips usually decay in direct sunlight in less than 2 months, rendering them useless.

SolidApollo also has set up a distribution platform in which they enable distributors and resellers to take advantage of the LED Lighting Technology with very attractive conditions, and with great discounts that make SolidApollo the one stop place for all the LED lighting Product needs that a distributor/Contractor may have.

SolidApollo offers a superior line of LED strips, from normal brightness to high brightness LED strip, RGB LED Strip (Color Changing), LED strip Controllers, LED Dimmers. SolidApollo also offers a wide selection of solderless LED Strip Accessories which facilitate all kinds of installation in just minutes.

New constant Current and and Hi CRI LED Strip Lights

North Seattle Company Solid Apollo LED leader in LED Lighting systems has introduced 2 new lines of linear products: Hi CRI and Constant Current LED strips.

CRI stand for Color Rendering Index and this measurement is used by lighting designers to determine how truthful a light source will reflect the true colors of the object being lit. CRI Measurements range from a scale of 0 to 100. 100 being the most perfect representation of colors.

Usually LED Lighting systems have a 70 CRI value which means that the light source can only represent up to 70% of the real color.  This may not seem to be important but displaying a product that lacks color and punch basically minimizes sales as users are not drawn to those products. Solid Apollo’s new line of Hi CRI Linear LED strips offer up to a 95 CRI Value.

“This is very important for commercial and retail applications because the better a color is represented, more sales the product will have” Stated Manuel Barquin President of Solid Apollo LED. Not only that, in the restaurant business and in the supermarket  business it very important to light up the products with a high CRI, as the products will look fresher and more appealing to the consumer.

Another use of Hi CRI Linear lighting is in the Jewelry and clothing business. By using Solid Apollo’s new line of Hi CRI products, business owners can increase sales by displaying products with brighter true colors that will attract more customers.

Solid Apollo LED offers more than 15 different brightness levels for their Hi CRI LED Strip Lights and up to 3 different Color temperatures ranging from 3100K to 6000K.

Another product that Solid Apollo LED launched a few days ago is their new line of Constant Current LED Strips. Constant Current LED Strips have an integrated circuit that regulates precisely the amount of voltage and current that each group of LEDs receives. This creates huge advantages over normal low voltage strips old by other companies.

Normal LED Strips have a limited lifetime, and have to be powered every 16 feet or so. This is not an issue in a small installation but if you try to install more than 20+ feet of strip, the installation becomes very cumbersome and full or cluttered wires that have to repower strips every 16 feet.

With Solid Apollo’s new line of constant current LED Strips, the user can connect up to 65 feet of strip with just one power cable at the beginning of the installation. No need to repower and re-cable the whole installation.

Another great advantage of Constant Current LED Strips is that there is no voltage drop over the length of the strips. “You can connect up to 65 feet of low voltage constant current strip without any brightness loss on the whole length.  This creates a seamless installation that is easy to install” stated Manuel Barquin President of Solid Apollo LED.

Solid Apollo LED also offers a great line of Anodized Aluminum channels and extrusions for LED strip Lights, ranging from Corner Extrusions aimed at retail lighting, to recessed extrusions which can be installed on the floor and walls. They also offer different kind of covers ranging from clear click on covers to Milky diffusers so everyone can make their LED Light strip installation a breeze.

Aluminum channels for LED strips offer great advantages, for example they serve as heat sinks for the LED strips. LED strips don’t produce much heat, but if you dissipate that heat by suing an LED Extrusion channel, you automatically increase the lifetime of the LED strips. Another advantage is that Aluminum Channels protect the strip from the elements and provide a safer installation.
