When shopping White LED lights, one of the key factors to look for is Correlated Color Temperature (CCT), a rating measured in Kelvin (K) on the hue and tone of the light.

As shown above, as the Kelvin rating rises, the light’s color and hue shifts away from warm orange towards a yellowish white when it reaches the mid-3000K area, followed by white without hue between 4000K and 6000K that closely resembles direct sunlight.

Changing the color temperature can completely alter the mood and feeling of a room; for instance, Solid Apollo’s Candlelight White LED strip lights offer the warmest LED light available in the market at a rating of 2400K, perfect for lighting wood & stone finishes, illuminating baked goods in a display case, or accentuating antique displays.

Solid Apollo’s DMX Addresser Has Arrived, It’s The Perfect Companion Tool for DMX Fixtures!

Good news! Solid Apollo LED now offers an easy-to-use, lightweight and portable tool for controlling DMX fixtures such as Solid Apollo’s Slim Ray 9 RGB LED Spot Light 60W and the Eco RGB Flood LED Wall Washer 40W. It is called the DMX Addresser.

If you’re familiar with Solid Apollo’s RGB LED Flood Wall Washers, you probably notice that some of the RGB Flood Wall Washers have a 3-digit LED display built-in within the DMX fixture for DMX programming purposes. Well think of the DMX Addresser as the 3-digit LED display but pocket size, because that’s exactly what it is, it’s portable and better!

The DMX Addresser is a handy tool designed to conveniently set DMX addresses, program functions and daisy–chaining to multiple DMX fixtures!

This handy tool is great for projects that require a quick on-field set-up, just plug and play! It comes in at 5 inches in length and 2 inches wide. It features an ergonomic handle perfect for gripping, a DMX female XLR Cable for connecting to your DMX programmable fixture and comes with a pre-installed 9V lithium battery.

Just like its counter-part, the DMX Addresser has an embedded DMX512 protocol which features: 7 single color selections – colors as follows: Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Purple, Aquamarine and White. Various special lighting effect programs: Fade – the light will fade from one color to the next, Strobe -quick flashes of different color lights and Jump – similar to the strobe effect without the flashing (it just jumps to one color to the next rapidly). And lastly, 9 levels of brightness & 9 levels of speed adjustment.

But wait, there’s more! There are two unique features that I find very useful and possibly will make your life easier in the long run. The features are called the Continuous Address Program and Same Address Program.

Basically what it does is, the Continuous Address Program will allow you to set DMX addresses continuously throughout your DMX fixtures. For example, if you set your first DMX fixture to DMX address 001 the next DMX fixture’s DMX address will follow after 003 (multiples of 3 for each DMX fixture). So then it would be 004, the next DMX fixture 007, so on and so forth. Up to 512 channels is available!

The Continuous Address Program is great for situations where you want to quickly set DMX addresses for multiple DMX fixtures, instead of inputting each individual DMX addresses. You just have to keep track of the DMX Fixture and its DMX address when you separate them.

The second feature is the Same Address Program which allows you to set the same DMX address to all your DMX fixtures. For instance, if you have five DMX fixtures daisy-chained, the Same Address Program will set all their DMX address to be all the same. Let’s say, if it is set to 001 then all five DMX address would be at 001.

The Same Address Program is very useful in situations where you want to quickly run the same color or lighting effects to all your DMX fixtures. Just simply set all of them in the same DMX address. If you have a project that has less than 32 zones then the the LEDmotion 32 is the perfect controller for the job.

The DMX LEDmotion 32 offers an intuitive user-friendly interface. To access the interface, simply install the included downloadable software to your chosen computer (compatible with MAC and PC (Linux)).

Back-lit 3D letter lighting, box lighting, sign letter lighting are a bold and attractive way to advertise businesses, identify locations or just a nifty accent lighting to a DIY project. Despite their beautiful presence and quick attention grabber, did you know behind all those lighting installations lurks one common enemy? If you guessed curves and sharp corners, you are correct.

3D Letters and Sign Letters are notorious for sharp corners and odd curves, not to mention they are very difficult to light up as they require custom size lighting to fit their shapes.

Traditionally, most 3D letter lighting and Sign letter lighting are lit through the use of neon or incandescent light bulbs. Neon lights are filled with dangerous gas in flimsy glass tubes and incandescent light bulbs are inefficient, require more power to use and have a shorter life span.

Fortunately, Solid Apollo LED came up with an alternative and easier way to light up 3D letter boxes.  Introducing the Zig-Zag 3528 24W and 3D 5050 72W LED Strip Lights – they are the perfect substitute for all back-lit lighting, 3D lighting, box lighting, sign letter lighting and more! They are easy to use and installs in seconds.

The Zig-Zag & 3D LED Strip Lights features their own unique advantages that is suitable for the same applications but can also be used to achieve the same results. In my opinion, the only differences between the two LED Strips are application preference and LED chip size.

The Zig-Zag LED Strip lights are designed for sharp corners and odd curves. It features a 3528 LED chip on a flexible Zig-Zag pattern that is 0.09in /2mm wide. Thanks to its Zig-Zag patterns, it allows the LED strip to easily bend on to sharp corners and twist freely adhering on to any direction. This unique design minimizes the use of other accessories like the “L” shape connectors and interconnectors and reduces trimming of the LED strip.

For example, if you were to install the Zig-Zag LED strip lights inside a 3D Letter box rather than a traditional lighting product, you would have the advantage of maneuvering around its 90° corners on the fly with less cutting or trimming and will be able to complete the entire 3D letter box without any add-on accessories.

The Zig-Zag LED strip lights are not only great for sharp corners but they are also perfect on round objects like a table, a clock , an archway, windy paths, the possibilities are endless!

On the other hand, the distinctive 3D LED Strip Lights is designed solely for inner and outer edge lighting. For starters, the 3D LED Strip Lights features a 5050 LED chip that is soldered on a 6mm 90 degree printed circuit board. This revolutionary design can bend from its original 90 degree angle all the way to 180 degrees.

Just like the Zig-Zag LED Strip Lights, the 3D LED Strip lights can be used in a similar fashion. If you installed the 3D LED strip inside the corner edges of the 3D Letter Box, it will emulate the same lighting as the Zig-Zag LED strip. The only difference is that the 3D LED strips are installed around the edges as opposed to being in the center.

You can also manipulate the 3D LED strip lights for outer edge lighting. For example, if you apply the 3D LED strip on the outer edge of the 3D Letter box, it would create back-lit lighting. You can apply the 3D LED Strips virtually on a multitude of projects and switching the angles from 90° to 180° creates more lighting possibilities that can be used from accent lighting to cove lighting, under cabinet lighting and more!

And thanks to its bendable printed circuit board it easily conforms around sharp corners and round objects avoiding the use of multiple “L” shape connectors or interconnectors.
