A higher voltage of the Waterproof 4 Channel DMX-RGB-W Controller is now available, introducing the Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller.

The Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller is a carbon copy of the Waterproof 4 Channel DMX-RGB-W Controller; the only difference between the two is that the Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller is used for high voltage applications and the Waterproof 4 Channel DMX-RGB-W Controller is used for low voltage applications.

For those that have not used the Waterproof 4 Channel DMX-RGB-W Controller, don’t worry! All the information that is covered on this blog post can be mostly applied for the Waterproof 4 Channel DMX-RGB-W Controller as it resembles similar functionalities.

The Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller’s exterior is fully waterproof, rated at IP67 along with its cables and connectors. Its sturdy high quality exterior can withstand the wettest locations – perfect on a patio, deck, poolside, or near a fountain.

The waterproofed cables consist of 14in LED Output cable, 19in DMX IN and OUT cables and 79in 120V AC Cord. Please note that the LED Output cable is not fully waterproofed unless you install a waterproof connector between the LED Output wire and your RGB fixture.

Solid Apollo offers an in-house installation for waterproofing your connections (please contact Solid Apollo for details). If you’d rather do-it-yourself, you would just have to install Solid Apollo’s RGB Outdoor Waterproof Connector or any waterproofing sleeve.

As the name states, the Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller converts DMX signals to RGB. This high voltage controller is great for 120V RGB products and works hand in hand with Solid Apollo’s RGB Neon LED Strip Lights and RGB Driverless LED Strip Lights.

Furthermore, it has a max power of 600W at 120V AC and can operate upwards of 165ft of RGB Neon LED Strips or up to 135ft of RGB Driverless LED Strip Lights on a single Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller.

Additionally, it also has a built-in overheat and over current protection that will protect the controller when the current reaches a wattage value that will cause an excessive or dangerous temperature rise in conductors.

The Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller has two primary functions: DMX Control Mode and Auto Program Mode. You can access these programs simply just by pressing and holding the first and second buttons below the digital display.

DMX Control is pretty straight-forward, once you’ve selected DMX Control Mode and connected your DMX512 Controller or your DMX capable control unit accordingly to the Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller, you will be able to control two or more Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controllers enabling them to run the same program seamlessly (Please note, in order to run the same program seamlessly on multiple Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controllers, they must all be daisy-chained to one another).

On a side note, one thing you might want to do first before operating in DMX Mode is to test to confirm if all systems and connections are working properly. To do this test, it is highly recommended to run the Auto Program Mode first. By doing this step first, you would precisely know if your connections are correct thus avoiding further troubleshooting down the road.

The Auto Program Mode enables the Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller to run a variety of predefined internal programs if an external DMX Control system is not available. The Programs include flashing, fading and single color selection; and within those programs the brightness levels and speed can be adjusted.

In conclusion, the Waterproof 120V AC DMX-RGB Controller is a great controller, but it is better suited for applications where you intend to use a DMX application.
